Senior Metallurgist and Data Scientist

A specialist international consulting firm serving the global steel industry, is seeking a Senior Metallurgist and Data Scientist to structure and deliver international consulting engagements in the steel sector .

Working directly with steel producers, plant leadership, and senior executives,you’ll combine deep metallurgical knowledge with strong analytical skills to solve complex operational and technical challenges. Reports to the Managing Director.

WHAT  YOU’LL  DO:

• Lead and deliver complex international technical consulting projects for steel producers and industrial clients
• Manage project scope, timelines, stakeholder communication and client delivery.
• Translate operational and steel-making challenges into practical consulting solutions.
• Support business development-clients engagement, proposals and project scoping – AND building long-term client relationship.
• Contribute to the companies’ methodologies and data-driven improvement initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in the steel industry, heavy industry, industrial consulting or technical engineering.
• Strong grasp of steel-making processes, plant operations and performance improvement.
• Experience running complex technical/operational projects internationally.
• Strong communication skills with technical and executive audience, and willingness to travel.

Preferred: experience with major providers (Primetals, Danieli, SMS group,Tenova)

Operational analytics/ industrial data science (ML;Excel, Power BI and Python; PMP or PRINCE2)

Lean/ Six Sigma; consulting background
