Role Overview
A major integrated steel producer is seeking an accomplished Plant Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance activities within its Hot Rolling Mill. This is a critical leadership role responsible for maximising plants availability, and safety across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic disciplines in a demanding, high-temperature production enivirment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end maintenance strategy for the hot rolling mill (preventive, predictive, correction)
- Manage a multi-discipline maintenance team across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic functions
- Drive plants availability targets and reduce unplanned downtime through root-cause analysis
- Oversee planned shutdown management, spare part inventory, and contractor supervision
- Implement and maintain CMMS systems (SAP PM or equivalent)
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards and champion a safety-first culture
Candidate Profile
- 15+years in heavy industry maintenance, with 5+ years in a hot rolling mill environment
- Strong expertise in rolling mill equipment: roughing/finishing strands, runout tables, coilers, roll shop
- Proven leadership of large maintenance team (50+ personnel)
- Proficiency in reliability engineering methodologies (RCM,FMRA,RCA)
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent professional qualification)
- Experience with SAP PM, Maximo, or Comparable CMMS platform
